Paolo Marchetti è un fotogiornalista freelance, con base a Roma. Ha lavorato per più di dieci anni nell’industria del cinema, a fianco di alcuni dei più importanti direttori della fotografia. Quasi contemporaneamente comincia la sua carriera di fotografo, imbarcandosi in progetti che lo hanno portato in diversi paesi del mondo. Le sue immagini hanno ricevuto premi e riconoscimenti prestigiosi e sono state pubblicate dalle più importanti testate internazionali, non ultimo il suo progetto Fever, sulla rabbia e sulla rinascita del neofascismo in Europa. Lo abbiamo incontrato a Milano, ospiti di MiCamera, dove ci ha concesso questa intervista intima e personale. Abbiamo scoperto un professionista dalla sensibilità peculiare, interessato ad indagare la vita delle persone, differenti per origine, condizione o vita sociale, anche quando esse vivono in situazioni “estreme".

In questa prima parte, Marchetti descrive come il suo lavoro sia anzitutto la creazione di una relazione tra persone, racconta poi la genesi e lo sviluppo di Fever.

Paolo Marchetti is a freelance photojournalist based in Rome. He worked in the film industry for over ten years, side by side with some of the most important directors of photography. Almost simultaneously his career as a photographer began, and he embarked on projects that took him all over the world. His photographs have received prestigious awards and acknowledgment and they have been published in some of the top international magazines - such as his latest work “Fever” on the rebirth of neofascism in Europe. We’ve met him in Milan while we were guests of MiCamera. He allowed us the intimate, personal interview that follows up. We’ve discovered a professional with a peculiar sensibility - a man who’s eager to investigate the life of individuals differing in origin, class or social condition (in “extreme” situations, too).

In this first part, Marchetti describes how his work is first and foremost about the creation of a relationship amongst people. He then moves on to telling the genesis and development of “Fever”.
