Phom Fotografia

nowheresafe1

ENGLISH VERSION

Samuel Bollendorff is a photographer and a filmmaker who’s made storytelling through images his main research tool. His work unveils major aspects of contemporary society in ways that outlive the consumeristic information system. Phom highlights one of his documentaries, À l'abri de rien /  Nowhere Safe, produced in collaboration with Mehdi Ahoudig for Fondation Abbé Pierre. Sixteen portraits tell the stories of approximately 3.5 million people living in France on the brink of destitution due to dwelling conditions.

Structured as a tale of fixed images, À l'abri de rien's strong point is the interaction between soundscapes and images. You can take a look at his web-docs here, and at other videos on his Vimeo channel.
